Old Point Light was founded in 2006 by Travis J. Dopp in order to create a multifaceted channel that writes, produces original content, episodic adventures, feature films, music and music videos. It has stood for authenticity in its story telling and its sound since the beginning. Old Point Light's goal is to efficiently create, market and distribute quality material while generating content, stories, sounds and characters that distinguish themselves from other production companies on every level.
The primary strength of any company is in the management team. The leaders of Old Point Light have extensive experience in the entertainment industry and in the development of creative content. In addition, Old Point Light has a close relationship with key consultants, advisers, crew members and talent who will be available to fill important roles on a per project basis. The following members make up the core management team.
Travis J Dopp
Travis has been involved in the music industry for over twenty years and creating and writing original content since 1991. With the relationships that he has built in the music industry, Mr. Dopp has created, produced and directed three music videos that aired on MTV and MTV 2. Alliance Media’s TV show “Pull” that aired on Fuel TV, Mr. Dopp was the music supervisor for two years. The L.A. Film School and The Shadow Conspiracy asked Mr. Dopp to co-create, produce, score and direct their yearly video campaigns. Most recently Travis co-created, co-wrote and acted in the television pilot, “Dragons”, which was a finalist in the 2011 Chicago Pilot Competition.
Tom has been performing improvisation comedy and writing film, sketch and advertising scripts since 1995. He is a graduate of the Second City Directing program and Conservatory. Over the past five years, he has worked within various advertising agencies writing and producing branded entertainment and new media content for the internet. He has performed and written shows for Second City’s Unhinged and Second City’s Donny’s Skybox Theater in Chicago with the sketch comedy group, The Outsiders. He was also on the long-standing house team Otis at I.O. Chicago. Tom has received several national writing awards in advertising for The Radio Mercury Awards, Communication Arts and The One Show. Most recently Tom directed the television pilot, “Dragons”, which was a finalist in the 2011 Chicago Pilot Competition.
William Dopp III
William’s love of entertaining led him from the stage to parts in commercials, television, and movies. His featured rolls include the television shows Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Any Day Now. He has co-written a number of screenplays and ‘top 40′ hits. William is also a business and marketing genius. His brand marketing and product placement knowledge is invaluable. Creating mutually beneficial relationships with companies and/or investors that are both positive and organic is of his utmost concern. Most recently William has signed on to star in the feature film Lost In Your Own Backyard.
Brent has been writing short stories for over 15 years and has been story creator and co-scripter of many screenplays during that same period. As a trained developmental geneticist, Brent recently acted as chief scientific consultant on the feature length film, Indelible, as well as for a nationally run Terminix SafeSheild commercial, for which he was also the principal actor. He writes part time as a science journalist and has two children’s books underway. It’s Brent’s love of film, music, and foremost, comedy, that embed him as a dedicated member of the Old Point Light crew.
David has spent over a decade in the motion picture production industry. His experiences on a diverse list of films, commercials, and corporate projects have lead to a deep understanding of the producing process. Working primarily in the cinematography aspect of filming in the lighting department Lukasik’s credits include such films as 21 Grams, 8 Mile, Public Enemies, Nightmare on Elm Street, Transformers 3 and many more. Commercial production has lead Lukasik into projects with companies such as Coors, Dodge Trucks, Gatorade, Sears, McDonald’s, etc. His production knowledge also spans corporate events and political campaigns. Mr. Lukasik’s personal knowledge of how production works is in itself worthy but even more so, it is the relationships that he has gained through the years with a widespread network of producers, crew members, and talent that are infinitely valuable.
